If you follow me on snapchat or watch my instastories, you’ve heard me talk about my skincare routine and Sunday Riley before and I really just wanted to share this with you guys, because hello, I’m nice and I like to share my secrets. Finding skin care that works for you can sometimes feel like you’re swimming in the ocean with no raft in sight. THERE IS SO MUCH OUT THERE! Part of what makes it so frustrating is that with skincare, depending on what it is that you’re trying to prevent or correct, it takes some time to work. As much as we’d LOVE it to instantly give us flawless perfect skin, it just won’t.
But, I will say, I found something that is darn near magical. NO joke, I’m obsessed with Sunday Riley skincare.
I was doing my usual monthly, ok(weekly) Sephora stroll and I noticed an interesting green bottle that had a dropper tool in it. I was intrigued and a sephora gal came over and I asked what it was and she absolutely raved about it and said it cleared up her acne and she was so impressed. Now, to the outsider, this may sound like just hype- But coming from someone who worked in cosmetics for over 10 years, I can tell you, I KNOW that product passion when I see it. She was not exaggerating, this stuff had to be good.
It wasn’t until a few months later I saw a little starter pack with a variety of the skincare products in it, so I thought I’d give it a try. Then it sat in my cabinet for over 6 months. You guys, I was SCARED. I’ve tried so many skincare products over the years and I’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars on products that sometimes worked, worked for a while, or just didn’t work at all, or just made my skin worse!
Then finally, I was breaking out worse than ever before(Hello post pregnancy hormones) and I was noticing a significant increase in my skin texture. I was incredibly self conscious, my skin was red and splotchy. I wasn’t even sure how to handle everything that was happening. SO I figured, nothing could make this worse and jumped in.
The starter pack that got me hooked was the Sunday School kit. It contained mini sizes of Good Genes, C.E.O. C + E Micro-Dissolve Cleansing Oil , C.E.O. C + E antiOXIDANT Protect + Repair Moisturizer and Luna Sleeping Night Oil. The set was a solution for dullness and uneven texture, Fine lines and wrinkles and uneven skin tone. Check, check, and check.
I used it. I’m not kidding you, the VERY next morning, my skin was not as blotchy, my skin texture looked visibly reduced somehow and my face, just looked better. I thought I was going crazy.
I thought, there is no way that this skincare is really that good. I’m just tripping out.
BUT, it’s sooooo is.
So when I finished up my starter kit -which, by the way I highly recommend so you can see what works well for you, etc before you purchase all your goodies. They are slightly more expensive, at first glance, but honestly not even. I’ve paid $120 for a serum before from a french prestige brand that just kinda worked and was full of fragrance that my skin hated, but this starter set is only $60. You can get this kit online or at Sephora.com.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, it was healing my acne, and the products weren’t even specifically for that!
So basically, this skincare is the holy grail for women who are fighting the signs of aging and adult acne. Can we all stand a rejoice together?
So, with the Sunday School Starter Kit was coming to an end, I knew I could not live without this stuff. (truth is, I did for like 5 days- worst 5 days of my LIFE. The Good Genes Treatment is basically unicorn milk. It literally plumps the lines and smooths texture thanks to the lactic acid. Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment is clinically tested and proven to significantly improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes.CLINICALLY PROVEN.
Science and Magic.
Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser
I knew I would want something more than the CEO Dissolving Oil for a cleanser. Just personal preference. But I use this to remove my makeup. Double whammy of goodness. And this wasn’t in the kit, but I picked up the Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser. I love how smooth it makes my skin feel and removes all the oils. It’s also loaded with essential oils for calming and soothing, so it also smells great, naturally! The french green clay help to absorb oil and clear out the pores. It’s just what my skin needs.
Sounds amazing right? I’m not even to the best part yet.
Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream
The one thing that was a bit too much for my skin as it tends to be a bit more oily was the CEO repair moisturizer for day and night. I needed something lighter. So I picked up Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream. Again, my socks were knocked off. I always imagined that one day, I would find the perfect moisturizer where it would just magically make my skin not be as oily, but still leave it plump and hydrated. And for a water cream, this is only $65.
SUNDAY RILEY DID IT.
This moisturizer is not only a moisturizer, but it’s also meant to help brighten the skin and help with dark spots. I just love how every piece of skincare is meant to help fight the aging process. Most skincare companies have a zillion products that you would need to buy if you wanted to treat acne and fight aging. Not to mention, And if you’re into beauty like I am. You know that water creams are all the rage right now. Tidal is everything I’ve ever wanted in a moisturizer.
Ok, now. I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST.
I swear, I’m not being a hype monster right now, but this product is legit, next level even. Sunday Riley says, next generation. So what is the magical blue liquid? If Good Genes is unicorn milk, then this stuff is Unicorn tears. Luna Night Sleeping Oil is a retinol oil that boosts the look and feel of skin plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores- so basically everything. It’s also loaded with more essential oils and botanicals to balance out the effects of the retinol which I love. German Chamomile and Blue Tansy, which is what gives it the beautiful blue color.
I’ve used traditional retinol creams in the past and I’ve always gotten really red and too dry and flaky, then my skin would always break out more because it was always so irritated. I’ve not had that experience with Luna Night Sleeping Oil. The Luna Oil comes in two sizes, one size is only $55 and the largest size is $105, but is really the best deal.
Because you wear it at night, you wake up to better looking skin in the morning.
